What Is a Rice Bran Enzyme Pack?

SALA BRAN’s rice bran enzyme culture is cultivated using rice bran and minerals as its primary ingredients. The fermentation process is carried out by microorganisms, including Cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria are among the oldest known life forms on Earth, having appeared approximately 3.5 billion years ago in the ancient oceans. They are believed to be the first organisms to perform photosynthesis.

The Rice Bran Enzyme Pack is made by drying SALA BRAN’s rice bran enzyme culture. The microorganisms inside are currently in a dormant state, but when exposed to warmth and moisture, they begin to become active again.

The human body contains an astronomical number of microorganisms. Many users of our enzyme bath and enzyme packs have shared experiences of physical comfort and positive changes in their overall well-being.

① Enjoy an Enzyme Bath at Home

Place the enzyme pack in your bathtub just as you would a tea bag. When exposed to warm water, the microorganisms begin to reactivate. Many users report that their bodies warm up comfortably, they perspire more easily, and they remain warm for longer after bathing. One pack can generally be used about three times. After each use, squeeze out excess water thoroughly and store it in the freezer.

If you do not have a bathtub, place the enzyme pack in a container of warm water and enjoy it as a foot bath.

This is the method SALA BRAN recommends to customers who wish to preserve their packs for extended periods. Store the pack indoors in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Inside the pack are dried fermented rice bran and dormant microorganisms from the enzyme bath. The bag contains tiny air holes, but as long as the contents remain dry, the microorganisms remain largely inactive. However, when moisture is absorbed, microbial activity resumes. Therefore, avoid storing the pack in humid places such as bathrooms or washrooms. Some enzyme packs distributed several years ago are reportedly still being used successfully today.

After Use

When the aroma becomes faint or the fermentation activity seems to diminish, it is generally a sign that the microorganisms have consumed most of the nutrients in the rice bran and completed their fermentation cycle. At that point, tear open the non-woven bag and mix the contents into the soil of houseplants, fruit trees, or home gardens. The fermented rice bran serves as food for beneficial soil microorganisms and can be used as an excellent organic soil amendment. We have even received reports of orchids blooming abundantly again after the contents were added to their pots.
